How to submit your new Squarespace site to Google
When you launch a new website, you won’t automatically start appearing in search. Google needs time to discover your site, index it and then start ranking you for specific search results, all of which can take time. You can speed the process up by requesting Google to index your site. You do this by submitting your sitemap to Google, and it’s super simple:
1. Create an account on Google Search Console.
2. Connect your website by clicking on Add Property in the top left corner and following the steps.
2. Click on Sitemaps in the left-hand navigation.
3. Enter the URL for your sitemap and click submit (yoururl.com/sitemap.xml)
And that’s it! In a day or two you will see that your site has been indexed, meaning you are now eligible to show up for relevant searches.
